Bamboo has certainly made it’s mark on the world of sustainability, and here’s why: Bamboo is naturally fast-growing and self-regenerating, which means it doesn’t have to be replanted. Unlike cotton, Bamboo cultivation requires little amounts of water, pesticides and labour.

Research has gone in to answering “How do bamboo forests grow without pesticides”, and studies have found naturally occurring antibacterial properties may have something to do with it. In fact, the anti-bacterial agent in bamboo has its own name! “Bamboo Kun” combined with the tight molecular structure of bamboo fibres, is believed to give Bamboo its anti-bacterial and bacteriostatic properties – which is not diminished even after more than 50 washes! It is also quite different from chemical additives which can often cause skin irritations and other problems.
