Recycling plastic is worth being sceptical about. Oceania only manages to recycle 7% of it`s waste, yet the EU is the most efficient in the world with only 14% of waste recycled according to OECD 2022.

The picture this paints us is that recycling infrastructure and programs is still new tech and new process, and needs more attention and investment to become more efficient and effective.

As individuals, we can help by playing our part - knowing what gets recycled and what doesn`t and correctly disposing our waste helps the processes we have function smoothly, so more energy can get spent on developing and improving on that dismal 7%!
